Once again the erratic British weather failed to dampen the spirits of thousands who enjoyed the Nantwich and South Cheshire Show today.
Huge crowds turned out for the annual event at Dorfold Park where there was entertainment and activities for all ages.
And with large marquees housing the International Cheese Show, there was refuge for those trying to avoid the sharp showers which peppered Nantwich throughout the day.
A large funfair with rides galore kept the younger ones entertained, while the stunt bike riders of the Bold Dog Lins FMX Team stole the show for many.
The long programme of events began at 8am and continued until 5pm with a wide range of judged competitions for animals including shire horses, cattle and sheep.
There was also showjumping, falconry displays and a hound and beagle parade, alongside performances from young musicians, shetland pony displays, logging horse demonstrations and many more.
More than 170 trade stands were scattered around the site and inside the Town and Country Pavilion and Cheshire East Pavilion.
Many local organisations were represented, including Nantwich Police, Cheshire Fire Service, Nantwich Veterinary Group, Reaseheath College, Wulvern Housing, and NWF.
Richard Roundell, President of the Show, said: “It remains the archetypal Agricultural Show, which is why it is so well supported by our exhibitors.
“Although it takes place on only one day, it is the culmination of almost a year’s work by the show committee. I thank everyone for coming to support it.”
