Traders are angry at Cheshire East Council’s decision to raise car parking charges in Nantwich, says a councillor. Shoppers and visitors to the town will have to pay 60p for an hour or a £1 for two hours, a rise of 10p on each tariff.

Nantwich Town councillors have agreed to push ahead and take overall control of prize assest such as the civic centre, market hall and The Gables from Cheshire East Council. But they warned that it will mean a rise in the town council precept element of residents’ council tax bills.
