Hundreds of young book fans are being rewarded at Nantwich Library after completing a summer reading scheme. A series of presentations have been taking place at the library this week to celebrate children who took part in the Circus Stars reading challenge.

Nantwich Library will celebrate National Poetry Day with an exclusive show by one of the UK’s most renowned performance poets Tony Walsh – AKA Longfella. Tony (pictured) is a “true giant” of the performance poetry scene while performing everywhere from The British Library to The Glastonbury Festival.
New Nantwich Library Book Lovers Group to be launched

Book lovers in Nantwich are being given the chance to join a new book club run by the town’s library. The first meeting of Nantwich Library Book Lovers Group is scheduled to take place on Friday September 16, at 2pm.
Cheshire’s Explorer Bear to visit Nantwich Library next week

Cheshire East Council has created its own Explorer Bear, which will be visiting Nantwich and other towns in the next few weeks. Staff worked with Congleton artist Allie Pottinger to create the bear, on display this week at Crewe swimming baths.

Nantwich Library staged a colourful morning of drama for youngsters taking part in this years Summer Reading Challenge. Local drama group The Young Actors held a drama workshop around the Summer Reading Challenge theme ”Circus Stars”.

Nantwich Library is to launch this year’s Summer Reading Challenge this Saturday, when youngsters will be encouraged to take to the stage. Scores of families in the town will once again join thousands across the UK for the biggest reading event for children in libraries.

Nantwich Library is to host a day of fun next Friday June 10 as part of National Bookstart Week. The library on Beam Street will be running special “All Aboard” sessions in line with the week’s national theme.

Nantwich Library opening times are to change from June 1, Cheshire East Council has announced. The main changes include opening half an earlier each morning at 9am instead of 9.30am Monday to Saturday.
