An exhibition on calligraphy is the latest to go on show in the Community Gallery at Nantwich Museum. The exhibition, which runs until Saturday October 22, features the work of Frances Passmore and aims to show it has a broader range than the traditional image of a monk with quill and vellum.

An awards ceremony is to be held at Nantwich Museum for the winners of the Young Wildlife Photographer competition run with Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre. Entrants in three age groups cmopeted for prizes which included cash, family passes to Tatton Park and behind the scenes tours at Stapeley Grange, on London Road.

Nantwich Museum is staging a series of wildlife related talks in the coming weeks. On August 11, Dr Andrew Kelly will run his ”RSPCA – Wildlife and animal welfare” talk. And on September 1, Michelle Desilets’ talk is entitled ”A glimmer of hope: saving the Orangutan”.

The Animal Art Adventure exhibition at Nantwich Museum is proving a big hit with visitors. The show, which launched earlier this month, runs until September 25 and is based around the theme of global wildlife conservation through rehabilitation projects.

A talk by Michelle Desilets, director of Orangutan Land Trust, at the Nantwich Museum has been cancelled. It was due to take place tonight (July 14) at 7.30pm. The next talk at the Pillory Street venue is now scheduled for Thursday July 21.

An unsung Nantwich hero has been awarded at a prize-giving ceremony at the town’s museum. Deana Emerton (pictured) was presented with the Walter and Ada Dutton Prize at the Nantwich Museum Trust’s agm held at the Pillory Street museum.
