Work on the second phase a of a new recreation area in Stapeley, Nantwich, has been completed. Members of Stapeley Parish Action Group (SPAG) announced the playground, next to Pear Tree Primary School on Peter Destapleigh Way, is now back open after several weeks of work.

Campaigners fighting to prevent more housing development in the Stapeley area of Nantwich have launched a new website to encourage others to join the protest. The site, www.protectstapeley.org.uk, highlights fears over potential development of 1,300 homes on land between Broad Lane, London Road,  Peter De Stapleigh Way, and the bridleway known as Deadman’s Lane.

Plans for a new outdoor recreation area in Stapeley are back on track after Cheshire East Council funding has been secured. The community play area, at the entrance to the Cronkinson Farm estate on the corner of Peter DeStapeleigh Way and Pear Tree Field (pictured), was put on hold after the Government announced it was axing the Playbuilder Scheme.

A busy Nantwich road closed off over half-term could be shut for another three weeks, it emerged today. Major sewer repair works meant the London Road-Newcastle Road stretch at the level crossing was shut all last week from October 25-29.
