A group of Crewe & Nantwich RUFC members swapped the lineout for the lakes to complete a gruelling 24-hour fund-raising challenge. Twenty-four players tackled the event, which saw them canoe the length of the longest lake in Scotland, England and Wales in under 24 hours.

An international rugby star will be visiting Brine Leas School in Nantwich this week where he will give a motivational talk. Welsh rugby league player Matt Thomas (pictured) will be speaking with the school’s PE students on Wednesday July 13 on the subject of “You maybe fit, but are you healthy?”

By Nick Price Crewe & Nantwich RUFC under 30s triumphed over their older counterparts in a match-up at the Vagrants to honour former player Andy O’Keeffe. The under 30s ran out 32-29 winners against the over 30s in a game which raised over £500 for charity.

Crewe & Nantwich RUFC capped off a memorable league and cup double when they were crowned Cheshire Plate winners with a 39-7 victory over Prenton. Backed by a large support, they produced a stunning display from the kick off which their opposition could not cope with.

Crewe & Nantwich RUFC are preparing for their Cheshire Plate final after easing to victory in the semi-final clash with Southern Nomads. The Vagrants-based side, who have already won their league this season, triumphed 40-10 in front of a buoyant home support.

Members of Crewe & Nantwich RUFC have laid down the gauntlet for people to join them on a fund-raising challenge to remember. They are planning to canoe around three of the largest lakes in Great Britain and raise thousands of pounds for charity into the bargain.
